During the Halloween season, consider taking one of the mansion’s Haunted History tours with Betsy Burnett-Belanger. During the event, Ms. Burnett-Belanger provides you with a comprehensive history of the Lemp family and the haunted mansion, including chilling ghost stories about its spirits. What follows is a tour of all three floors of the building and an attempt at psychic communication with the aforementioned spirits.

Science Spooktacular

The St. Louis Science Museum is getting in on the Halloween fun with its weekend Science Spooktacular event. For the duration of the event, the center will follow a Halloween theme and the Energy Stage on the lower level will feature an eerie science demonstration. You don’t have to wear a costume, but you certainly may.

The Legendary CWE Halloween

Named one of America’s top neighborhoods by the American Planning Association, the Central West End is home to some of the city’s best eateries, bars, entertainment venues, and other commercial establishments. It’s also the site of an annual street party called the Legendary CWE Halloween. This is an all-day event. During the daytime, you’ll find activities suitable for the entire family. After sundown, though, it’s grown-ups only. Make sure to dress up for this because $6,000 in cash and prizes is available to contenders in the costume contest.

Emo Halloween With Finding Emo

Here’s one for the 21-and-over crowd.

When it comes to live punk, hardcore, and indie rock, The Heavy Anchor is a local favorite. This year, to celebrate Halloween, the dive bar will host Emo Halloween with the St. Louis emo group Finding Emo. Expect a rollicking tribute performance of such acts as My Chemical Romance, Good Charlotte, Blink-182, Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, and Jimmy Eat World. Costumes are absolutely encouraged.

Witching Hour Blues

Another music-related event is set to take place at the National Blues Museum shortly before Halloween day. The Witching Hour Blues event is a Halloween-themed tribute to the legendary Jimi Hendrix, featuring the guitarist Matt Roland. The event takes place in the Legends Room, the museum’s performance space. All tickets are general admission. The event space features family-style seating, so a purchase of four tickets is necessary to attain a table for your group. If you have a music-themed costume, you’re welcome to wear it.
